With a bold vision and $1,000 in start-up capital, Veronica Garza and her family turned a personal need into Siete Family Foods. What began as a dietary adjustment, turned into a multi-million dollar company committed to health and cultural roots.
The dietary change was fundamental for Veronica, who, with family support, began experimenting with alternative ingredients to recreate traditional foods. Almond flour was her solution to produce gluten-free tortillas. By the way, this alternative was even approved by her grandmother, who praised the taste and texture.
The acceptance of her creation in the close circle prompted Veronica to share her products at the Crossfit gym the family managed in Laredo. Growing demand inspired her brother Miguel to suggest an expansion. Siete Family Foods began formal production in 2014, integrating all seven family members into its operation.
